Manenberg Peoples Centre was established in 1987 as a non-profitable organisation. This centre was opened with one husbandry and that was to mobilize the society from the apartheid era. This was the facility where professional social workers and counsellors could add together support and counselling. It consisted of representatives of the following sectors; youth, two Heideveldt Congregational Churches, Muslim Faith, Manenberg Advice offi ce, courtly organisations and the Manenberg area committee. The make was funded by EZE and the Congregational church in the USA.

The mission statement is, The Manenberg Peoples Centre is machine-accessible to the upliftment of the Manenberg union through the provision of social and economic breeding for those who want it.
